Hurting or Benefiting?  Is the coronavirus good or bad for famous beer brand Corona sales? A survey conveyed by  5W Public Relations  argued wether not the coronavirus would be a PR disaster for the popular beer brand. The survey consisted of questions such as "Are you a Corona drinker?" and "Would you order a Corona in a public venue now?". Results of the survey stated that 38% of Americans who actively drink beer with not, under any circumstance, buy Corona. While 16% of Americans are confused about wether or not the virus is related to the beer. Lastly, that 14% of usual Corona drinkers said they would not order it in a public place. This virus couldn't have come at a worse time for the brand as they get ready to launch their new Corona branded hard seltzers. Many of us know Benjamin Franklin for a list of groundbreaking finding such as electricity, bifocals, heat stoves, swim fins and many other inventions. However, what people don't realize is how Benjamin Franking changed journalism. Prior to class presentations, I never new Benjamin Franklin was even a journalist. I was shocked to learn that he even had his own newspaper. Benjamin Franklin changed journalism with the use of penn names. At 16 he started using penn name, Mrs. Silence Dogood, to publish his work in the New-England Courant, which was his brothers news paper. Ben Franklin would use many penn names throughout his life, each with a different personality. However, they all shared the same values and point of views. Virus COVID-19, known as the coronavirus, is todays new epidemic that has surpassed 90,000 cases with more than 3,000 deaths, and now has spread to 84 countries as of March 5th. As the coronavirus worsens, so does the economy. Due to the fear of getting the virus, consumers are choosing to avoid activities such as going shopping or eating out. With the significant decrease in travel and tourism is it expected that it will definitely effect the United States economy. Jacob Riis  Jacob Riis, as many of you knew as an American reporter, is also one of New York's most  popular social reformers and photographers. Riis is one of many muckraker journalists who brought attention to the economic and social hardships in New York during the the late 19th century.  In the late 1800s the Lower East Side was probably one of the most populated places on earth. The Supreme Court can be considered one of the most important parts of the judicial body. It's considered one of the most important parts because the Supreme Court has the final say in all cases that involve the laws of Congress and the Constitution. However, the power of the Supreme Court is limited by the other two branches of government, the Executive branch and the Legislative branch. This limitation of power is also known as checks and balances. Another reason why the supreme court is so powerful is because it has the ability to check the actions of both the President and Congress. For example, if the Presidents actions conflict with the Constitution the Supreme Court can stop or override his or hers actions. Regarding the Congress, an example is when the Supreme Court vetos a law passed by Congress that interferes with the Constitution. For those of you who do not know, there is a prevalent issue in the world of Journalism today. Our press freedom is at risk everyday that we allow the torturing of Julian Assange to take place.  Julian Assange, who is the founder of WikiLeaks and an Australian journalist, has been charged  with 17 counts of espionage after leaking a host of secrets that the United States government has been keeping from us, those secrets that include the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  What brought a great load of attention was a video known as “Collateral Murder ”, this was a video of US soldiers shooting a number of innocent people and laughing about it from a helicopter in Baghdad in 2007. Assange is now being held in confinement in the Belmarsh Prison, one of Britain's most notorious maximum-security prisons by the United States government due to espionage. Twitter  Although twitter is known for being a social media app and not a news outlet, it still provides its users with breaking news in regards to politics, weather, climate change, etc. Younger generations are not getting their news from social media apps because it is quick and always at the palm of our hands. Major news networks are now beginning to use Twitter in order to reach younger audiences.  Facebook  Another social media platform I use to keep up with the news is Facebook. However I feel as if Facebook only portrays certain topics of news in regards to what the company thinks you're interested in. For example, news about climate change constantly pop up on my timeline but politics rarely do. This could be a good thing because every time I go on my timeline it provides me of news I am interested in however, I am not ever reading about news that could be urgent or important because Facebook doesn’t think I would be interested in it.
